I’ve been struggling to get through fiction lately, but I picked up this book based on a recommendation from a friend and couldn’t put it down. It’s haunting, centering on one woman’s trauma, loneliness, and lack of agency. Her story is told from the perspective of those close to her, and the resolution was deeply unsettling but very powerful. The irony is not lost on me that I read this right after Eating Animals.
